How to protect your application using Protection Module?

eCylabs has five modules based on the NIST Framework. After the detection module detects the issues then the protection module helps to protect the application from these issues and will help your application to protect from all types of vulnerabilities. It is a web application firewall that provides security for the applications. This module is also called eCyWAF and by default it comes under OWASP top 10 core rules to protect web applications from OWASP top 10 category.

How you can view the Protect module:


1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center 

2. Click on the admin option from the side menu.

3. Select the modules option.

4. Click on install under the protect module.

5. Now, you can see the protect module in the side menu.

1. Enabling the protection module.


How to use the protection module:


1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center

2. Click on the protect module from the side menu.

3. On the protection list page click on the add icon button.

4. Select an application.

5. Enter the details (host IP, management port, web port, network name, URL, and server name).

6. Click on enable.

2. Download button.


By clicking on the download button you can download the docker-compose.yml file. It helps to install and use the eCyWAF open source firewall by logging in your server and running the docker-compose.yml to use the services.


1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center

2. Click on Admin from the side menu.

3. Select modules from the dropdown.

4. Click on the install button under the protection module.

5. You can see the protect menu in the sidebar after installing the module.

6. Click on the protect menu.

7. After enabling protection click on the download button.

8. You can see the docker-compose.yml file is downloaded into your local computer.

3. Editing the details.


By clicking on the edit button you can edit your value which was given to enable protection under the system configuration, you can also re-download the file after updating the edited details to use the updated configurations.


1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center.

2. Click on Admin from the side menu.

3. Select modules from the dropdown.

4. Click on the install button under the protection module.

5. You can see the protect menu in the sidebar after installing the module.

6. Click on the protect menu.

7. Click on the edit button.

8. You can make changes on your docker-compose.yml.

9. Click on the update button.

10. You can redownload the docker- compose.yml.

4. Security policy.


It helps you to enable or disable the rules and you can also create custom rules to perform the action. This enabling disabling helps you to use security policy to run firewall rules.


How can you use it :

1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center.

2. Click on the protect module from the side menu.

3. Click on the edit icon under the action column.

4. Click on the security policy tab.

5. Click on the switch on/off button for any of the firewall rules.

6. Click on the update button to save the changes.
