The eCyWAF open web application firewall is the industry standard web application firewall (WAF) delivered in a container form factor available from docker hub and natively integrated into eCyLabs platform. eCyWAF prevents cyber attacks in web applications and web services hosted in your organization. eCyWAF is a demand WAF to protect against various application attacks. By installing the protect module you can use eCyWAF. eCylabs provides you a feature to enable, disable the rule and also you can create the custom rules to perform the action.

To activate eCyWAF:


1. Enable Protection


1.1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center.

1.2. Click on Admin from the side menu.

1.3. Select modules from the dropdown.

1.4. Click on the install button under the protection module.

1.5. You can see a protect option in the side menu after installing the module.

1.6. Click on the protect menu.

1.7. Click on the plus button in the table.

1.8. Enter your IP, management port, web port.

1.9. Enter your network name.

1.10. Enter your server URL, server name and click the enable button.

2. Download button


You can click the download button to download the docker-Compose yml file. By using this file, you can install the eCyWAF open source firewall. Log in to your server and run the docker-compose.yml file and you can use the open-source firewall.


2.1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center.

2.2. Click on Admin from the side menu.

2.3. Select modules from the dropdown.

2.4. Click on the install button under the protection module.

2.5. You can see the protect menu in the sidebar after installing the module.

2.6. Click on the protect menu.

2.7. After enabling protection click on the download button.

2.8. You can see the docker-compose.yml file is downloaded into your local computer.

3. Edit Button


On clicking the edit button you can change your value which has been given for enabling protection under the system configuration and you can re-download the yml to install an open-source firewall.


3.1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center.

3.2. Click on Admin from the side menu.

3.3. Select modules from the dropdown.

3.4. Click on the install button under the protection module.

3.5. You can see the protect menu in the sidebar after installing the module.

3.6. Click on the protect menu.

3.7. Click on the edit button.

3.8. You can make changes on your docker-compose.yml.

3.9. Click on the update button.

3.10. You can redownload the docker- compose.yml

4. Security Policy


Security policy provides you to enable, disable the rule, and also you can create custom rules to perform the action. By enabling the protection module you can use security policy to run firewall rules.


4.1. Login to eCyLabs Security Center.

4.2. Click on Admin from the side menu.

4.3. Select modules from the dropdown.

4.4. Click on the install button under the protection module.

4.5. You can see the protect menu in the sidebar after installing the module.

4.6. Click on the protect menu.

4.7. Click on the edit button.

4.8. Click on the security policy tab.

4.9. Here you can enable, disable your firewall rules.
